pistol qualifying
Sniper Difficulty formulas?

I will very soon join the army as an infantryman and I know I will qualify for Sniper School. I in excellent form and you can shoot expert with a rifle and pistol (do not know about the gun, but still I do not care). What worries me is whether I can academic hang since I have never been any good at math. Can anyone tell me if this is a big problem? (preferably a current or former sniper or someone involved in long-range shots) Man I've studied as much as I can about stories of snipers. Carlos Hathcock, Vassilli Zeitsev, Simo Häyhä are my three favorites and I've tried to learn as much as possible from them.

Tire is only 1 / 3 of what you do in the U.S. Army Sniper School in FT. Benning. You must learn Fieldcraft, concealment and camouflage, range estimation, stalking and patience. Also, since they are the eyes and ears of his unit commander, you should know how to report information as you see it. The calculation for windage, distance, gravity and the ball drops are important, but will teach how to calculate and put into use the MOA (minute of angle is the measurement unit used by snipers in school to measure accurately). Normally, your assistant will help with this if your on a normal two-man team. I have not met anyone who sent home for mathematics, but many not be stemmed, and simply remain hidden fires day and night at intervals of 800ms or more. Last thing I remember the manhunt waiting hours or even days is not for the faint of heart and not for all one who is "bloodthristy and thinks they can shoot. Here's a bit more sniper craft: Books http://www.tradoc.army.mil/pao/training_closeup/sniperschool.htm http://science.howstuffworks.com/sniper.htm/printable of first-person accounts and training: http://www.righthook.com/sniping.html edit: do not use 5.56mm sniper well lol. Mainly 7.62 mm and 50. cal/12.6mm for long, long range shots.
