Mitchell Mauser M48 tanker? Auto Ordinance M1 Carbine?
I was looking for a small rifle and not Mil surplus M1 carbine and I saw the OCs ($ 900) and after Mitchell, mini mauser Mauser M48 .. What do you think of these weapons? I am not hunting or anything, I just want a rifle to plink with and if need be. Me like the military style and own a Mosin but is 60 years, so I will not trust her. Also, what size do you recommend? It comes in 8mm Mauser, .30-06 Springfield, .308 Winchester, .270 Winchester .243 Winchester and I am more familiar with guns, so do not know the benefits or drawbacks of these .. less recoil, easy to shoot, ammo is cheap so I'm looking for. Stick with the Mauser 8 that was originally designed for? Check out 20tanker/index.htm http://mauser.org/rifles/m63%
I've been taking a look at the tank for a year. I think with the decrease of $ 90 in weaver mount and Mitchells sells 2mil Aimpoint point size .308, Which makes a sweet setup. I say 308 for action short, common military round, a lot of energy. I think I talked myself into it. Single drawback is that I am left handed. But I'm willing to overlook it.
