The Motorcycle Color Guard of America (MCGA) is a group of motorcyclists who have American flags and military (Flags of Freedom) at events to meet our current and fallen soldiers, police and firefighters for their sacrifice for our freedom in America.
Mission Statement
"To honor our nation and armed forces personnel for the sacrifices they make on our behalf to ensure freedom and freedom of our lifestyle. "
Flags of Freedom
The Flags of Freedom consists of 7 flags representing:
- United States of America
- POW (prisoners of war)
- United States Army
- United States Marines
- United States Air Force
- United States Navy
- United States Coast Guard
For viewing in 3 x 5 'flags are mounted on 8-pole feet that are attached to the rear of the bike.
Events
The events are picked by how flags of freedom are inconsistent with the general theme of the event. Here are some events where presentations were made:
- Traveling Vietnam Wall
- Swap meets where the theme is the honor of military
- Parade Veterans
- Car shows when the subject of the car show is for humanitarian purposes
- Events around Memorial Day
- Events around July 4th
- The events surrounding 9 / 11
When asked to make an event, the presentation is usually either at the beginning of the event or lunch. Depending on the event, can not mount garages with flags in the display and / or motorcycles stopped in training for a static display.
For the moving wall, usually every bike rides with his respective flag in front of the audience while playing the music for this military branch. When all branches are in place, then the American flag is presented in the Star Spangle Banner is played. Then, the bikes are left on static display until event is over.
For parades, it is preferable if the motorcycle can run Color Guard as the 1st unit of the parade to establish the speed of the parade. It is very difficult to maintain stability on a motorcycle below 3 mph.
Makeup Color Guard
The guard is composed of 12 motorcycle riders with good to excellent riding skills of the East Valley area of Phoenix, Arizona. The requirement skills is a necessity because of slow riding in predefined formats. The Motorcycle Color Guard of America was formed in 2007 for the sole purpose of displaying American flags and military at events to show support for all comrades.
When viewing at events, the emphasis is on the flags to all the riders ride Honda Gold Wing so as not to distract attention not to the music played for the respective flags. Currently MCGA has been presented at events in Arizona, but is willing to travel outside states so it can be arranged.
